Today, almost 20 years after the first GNSS system was fully operational, many devices in public services, military and commercial applications are depending on GNSS signal. Not only the US GPS signal, but also the Russian GLONASS and the European GALILEO signals are used in a great diversity of applications.
The signals are not only used for positioning but also timing devices uses the GNSS time stamp for synchronising systems all around the world. The GNSS signals is very weak so a good reception of the signal can only be guaranteed when a clear line of site to the sky is available. But a lot of the applications that uses the GNSS signal are not outside, but often static inside a building, or mobile inside a vehicle on land, water or in the air. Our goal is bringing the GNSS signal at the location you need it, Live Inside!

Government

A lot of applications are somehow related to, or uses the GNSS signal. First Responders like fire brigades or ambulances must rely on their on-board systems the second they leave the garage. In the Mass Transit systems used all around the world locational information of each unit (busses, trains etc.) is essential. Most of the operational time of these units they do have a clear line of site of the sky, so no problem receiving GNSS signals. But at some specific locations like inside terminals, workshops but also inside tunnels the signal cannot be received. For subway or metro systems the signal is not received for most of the operational time. At these locations the on-board systems get unreliable or even cannot operate at all, GNSS reradiating can help you solve this problem.
At aircraft hangars the same problems occurs, servicing the GNSS-navigation system on board of an aircraft is not possible. Towing the aircraft in and out of the hangar brings a lot of risks, time and costs. A reliable GNSS signal inside the hangar enables service personal to test and service the systems inside the hangar in good working conditions with all equipment available.

GPS Live Inside brings GPS signal acquisition within the First Responders fire-house or parking garage. This means your GPS system is live and ready to roll at all times, minimizing response times.
Accuracy, reliability and rapid acquisition time are important factors that First Responders depend on with GPS. These factors are put into play the moment the dispatch comes to the First Responder and should not be delayed by having to wait until the GPS can “see sky” and get a GPS signal.

Where seconds matter, faster is better.

BENEFITS:

  • Traffic Signal Pre-emption
  • Immediate Event Recording
  • No Delay To Dispatched Location
  • Reduced Response Times

GPS Source provides a solution to the telematics industry, bringing GPS Live Inside a building, parking garage or any other facility. Telematics devices are being used by insurance companies for risk assessment, by the navigation sector, and by freight companies for tracking and proof of regulatory compliance. They help to keep track of assets, keep busses on schedule and give real time location information.

One weakness of telematics systems is that GPS signal tracking information may not be available to vehicles inside parking garages or other covered structures. Telematics systems combine GPS modules with radio transceivers in compact devices that are usually installed underneath vehicle dashboards and positioned to “see sky.” If they do not “see sky” (receive GPS signal), they do not work.

We create products that make GPS signal available inside parking garages or other covered structures. This allows telematic systems to keep track of the fleet everywhere…even in your garage where they are parked overnight.

GLI-Hangar allows ongoing installation, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft GPS navigation systems inside the hangar. Delays of maintenance due to inclement weather or the placement of other aircraft is eliminated. Maintenance efficiencies can be immediately recognized.  As accessibility to work on the GPS navigation becomes more convenient. Personnel and assets can be protected, plus time and fuel can be saved using GPS Live Inside a hangar. All GNSS signal you need at the location you need it most. Military

The military are the first users of the GNSS signal, back in the 90s of the previous century the aircraft and land vehicles were equipped with GNSS receivers to know their position. And of course of their friends or foes. Today these systems are not only used for equipment, also the soldiers are carrying GNSS receivers to get a complete picture of the battlefield. Besides that tactical radios using the GNSS codes for informing all personnel. Even getting the very much needed supplies to the personnel at the battlefield is relying on the GNSS signal. Payload drops from transport planes receive the GNSS inside the aircraft, so no second is lost once the payload leave the aircraft and find his way, guided by GNSS, to the troops.

Experience wireless GPS coverage within any military aircraft. This means any handheld military or commercial GPS receivers, precision air drop guidance units and parachutist NavAid receivers can acquire satellite signals inside the aircraft. A GPS receiver will experience no loss in signal coverage as it moves out of an aircraft equipped with GPS Live Inside.

GPS receivers (both commercial and military) do not automatically “get” a GPS signal. Receivers have to search for and then lock onto the signal. The receivers typically cannot lock onto the signals when inside of an aircraft. When a Warfighter exits an aircraft, there can be a relatively long period of time to the first GPS position fix as the receiver searches for the signal. The time needed for a navigation device (such as a DAGR) to lock onto a signal outside of the plane, may affect the amount of actual air time available to navigate and glide to a target. With GPS Live Inside, the Warfighter always has a signal inside or out of the aircraft.

Installation is available for Permanent, Roll on/Roll Off, Man Portable. Configurations are available (but not limited) to the following:
C-130 S-70iTM
C-17 MH-47
C-23 CH-53
C-27J CV-22
UH-60 MH-60

A GPS retransmission system offers three main benefits to the Warfighter operating inside military ground vehicles.

1. The operator’s GPS receiver will obtain wireless GPS lock while the vehicle is in a protected state with all hatches, doors, and windows closed to provide maximum protection from outside threats.

2. Time-to-First-Fix (TTFF) is eliminated, meaning the operator experiences a seamless transition while exiting the vehicle, never losing GPS lock.

3. A live wireless GPS signal inside the host vehicle enables optimization and weight reduction of the RF signal distribution system within the vehicle.

Permanent, roll on/roll off, or man portable installation configurations are available for, but not limited to the following:
MRAP Stryker LAV Bushmaster
HMMWV MATV Namer
Bradley JLTV FRES SV
GMV Land Rover Warrior

GLI-Cobra is a portable GPS repeater kit designed to maintain GPS signal availability inside of an aircraft or ground vehicles. Not only is it designed to transmit GPS live inside, but it maintains signal “lock” for GPS receivers inside the vehicle. This means when dismounted or deployed, the location data stays in place. There is no need to reacquire the signal, giving more time to concentrate on a mission. A Warfighter will have situational awareness prior to dismounting. With GLI-Cobra, reporting invalid location data and delays in acquiring GPS position are a thing of the past. A GPS receiver will experience no loss in signal coverage as it moves into or out of a vehicle or aircraft equipped with GPS Live Inside.

Installation Configurations Available: Permanent, Roll on/Roll Off, Man Portable

Kits available for any type of aircraft or military ground vehicle.

Commercial use

Today almost every mobile device uses GNSS signal for many applications, very often we see applications and gadgets integrated in daily used apparatus using the GNSS signal. Navigation systems are integrated in cars at the production line, but also in agricultural equipment like ploughs or trucks the navigational systems are integrated when build. To be sure the system is functioning all right before the car or truck is leaving the production site, the GNSS signal must be available inside the production line. And during the live time of the car or truck it will be inside a garage for maintenance, it saves time and money when the GNSS systems can be checked during maintenance inside the garage.

GLI-METRO – Developed for GPS Denied Environments

Put the GPS signal where it is needed. The GLI-METRO will bring the GPS signal into almost any GPS denied environment. Derived from high performance systems for military applications, it is robust and dependable, allowing the user precise control over effective radiated power (ERP) levels. It is smart enough to automatically condition the signal and prevent changes in performance, regardless of the uncertain loss or gain in the receive antenna cable network. GLI-METRO’s Bluetooth capability allows for troubleshooting without accessing rafters or using a man-lift, saving time and money.
